What is a Compromise Agreement?
A Compromise Agreement is a binding agreement that an employer and employee enter into on the termination of the employee’s employment.
Why do I need a Compromise Agreement?
A Compromise Agreement addresses various issues that arise on the termination of employment, including what payments will be made, what claims will be waived, and ongoing obligations. Whilst a Compromise Agreement tends to benefit an employer more than an employee, it may also remove onerous contractual terms or create favourable new ones.
Why do I need a Solicitor?
A Compromise Agreement removes the majority of an employee’s rights to further monies for the loss of their employment and may restrict their ability to obtain alternative employment. It is therefore essential that an employee receives the correct advice to protect their rights and maximise their entitlements.

How much will it cost?
Since your employer will contribute towards your legal costs, it will often not cost you anything to instruct us. If you oppose the Compromise Agreement we can represent you in the Employment Tribunal.
How long will it take?
We can normally see you within 24 hours of receiving your call, and if after receiving our advice you sign the Compromise Agreement, it can normally be returned to your employer the same day. If you oppose the Compromise Agreement or any of its contents, the process will take longer.
What if I cannot attend your offices?
We can act for you wherever you are in the UK. If you cannot attend our offices, we can still advise and act for you by telephone, e-mail and fax, or attend your home.
